The name is a voicing.
Take a four-note chord in close position and let the second voice from the top fall an octave: the harmony opens up and settles under the hand. That’s a drop-2 voicing — the grammar of jazz guitar comping, from Wes Montgomery on down. Let the third voice fall instead and you get its wider sibling, the drop-3 voicing. Steer those shapes through a progression by the smallest possible moves and you are voice leading.
This app began life as a drop-2 trainer. The name stayed; the ambition grew.

Play the one-octave shape for any root and quality, in any position. Every note is checked by ear, and the chord tones light up on a full-neck diagram.
Drop-2 voicings

Solo over the changes
A walking bass and drums loop the tune you pick, in any key. The app names the guide tone to land on in each bar — or grades every note you choose to play instead.
Pure listening
No guitar, no mic. Drop2 plays an interval, a chord, or a cadence and you answer on the neck — intervals as degree-labeled circles, chords as real drop-2 voicings in any inversion, cadences as voice-led shapes that step across the fretboard as they sound. Hold an answer to hear it before you commit.
The unglamorous part
A chromatic tuner, a metronome with a drum-kit voice, streaks, an activity heatmap, and a daily plan that targets exactly what you’re due to review — the engine of a 20-minute practice routine.
